Breckenridge Insurance announces the formation of BreckTechUW, a technical underwriting MGU focusing primarily on complex property risks in the U.S. energy transition market. Anthony Carroll has been named the leader and senior vice president, underwriter along with Peggy Day joining as vice president of operations.
The team will manage select carrier relationships to place complex property risks requiring sophisticated risk evaluation, catastrophe modeling, and data-driven underwriting expertise. They will focus on businesses at the forefront of the energy transition marketplace including oil and gas and power generation providers with renewable energy such as wind, solar, and hydroelectric power generators. They will also facilitate diverse property exposures in all downstream infrastructure, distribution, processing, and manufacturing risks associated with the energy transition.
With more than 35 years of insurance industry experience, Anthony has held senior leadership positions including executive management roles, board membership, and chief underwriting positions for several well-regarded companies including Starr Technical Risks, Liberty International Underwriters, Aspen Specialty Insurance, and Willis Towers Watson. He was an MGA Lloyds coverholder at Willis Towers Watson.
Peggy has 30 years of insurance and reinsurance experience with large global and startup entities. Her expertise includes aligning strategic vision and operations with technology, finance, regulatory, management, and Lloyds.
